In this article, we're diving into how to use your intuition in business to get incredible results (it's not what you think).
So first, a little background: I run a thriving business that generates consistent monthly revenue that exceeds anything I ever earned in academic or corporate life. I do it in part time hours and I’ve been doing this for almost 5 years. So clearly, I know what I'm talking about.
Intuition has played an important role in creating this, but only because I've used it in a certain way.
Most of my clients come to me very much in 'feminine' - they run their entire business off intuition, and although it feels good, they come to me because they're not seeing the results they desire.
The reason for this is because they don't have the strategy in place that will support their intuition. There’s literally no amount of intuition that can tell you how to create a marketing and sales plan - if you have no idea what you’re doing strategy wise, no intuition is going to help you here.
Strategy isn’t sexy but if you don't have one, and you want to make your business profitable, you need one.
Here's what you need to understand about strategy: your strategy will be different depending on where you are in business. If you’re just starting out, you need a strategy for replacing your 9-5 income with business revenue. And if you’re scaling, you need a different strategy to increase your monthly revenue in a sustainable and leveraged way. This is why it’s important to learn from experts who are good at helping you create the right strategy for you.
Remember, effective strategy and systems are the foundation from which your intuition can then flow. Effective marketing and sales strategy will very often feel boring. But your intuition can come in and spice things up a bit.
For example, I know exactly what I’m selling at any given moment and I know the marketing and selling sequence that works well for me. That never changes. But the intuition piece is the how. It’s what keeps it fresh for me. That can look like doing a podcast episode around a certain topic, or doing a spontaneous livestream. But the foundations are already in place, so I know whatever I do, it's going to work.
The lesson I into you to take from this article? Learn, implement and integrate good strategy, and then allow your intuition to flow.
